Introduction
to CMMI®, Staged Representation
This
three-day event is the Software Engineering Institute's (SEI's)
official introductory course for the Capability Maturity Model®
Integration (CMMI®). CMMI® is a
tool that helps organizations improve their ability to develop
and maintain quality products and services. CMMI®
models are an integration of best practices from proven process
improvement models, including the CMM® for Software,
EIA 731, and the Integrated Product Management CMM®.
This course focuses on the CMMI® models with a
staged representation. If you are not sure which representation
is right for your organization, please contact us and we will
be glad to assist you.
The
course is composed of lectures and class exercises with ample
opportunity for participant questions and discussions. After attending
the course, participants will be able to understand how CMMI®
models can apply to their organization's process improvement program.
The course covers the five CMMI® maturity levels
and their characteristic process areas.
Successful
completion of this course is a prerequisite for Intermediate Concepts
of CMMI, SCAMPI Lead Appraiser Training, and CMMI Instructor Training.
Successful completion of the course requires active participation
and attendance throughout the full three days. Each student will
receive their own copy of the CMMI for Systems Engineering/Software
Engineering/Integrated Product and Process Development/Supplier
Sourcing, Version 1.1 Staged Representation (CMU/SEI-2002-TR-012,
ESC-TR-2002-012).
The
Introduction to CMMI®, Staged Representation is
intended for software and system engineering managers, technicians,
and practitioners, who desire to see a viable process improvement
program within their organization. This audience is very interested
in the establishment of a benchmark against which they can measure
process improvement progress, as well as compare themselves to
the benchmarks of other organizations.
