DSTATS features provide trainers the means to control the training environment, the flexibility to tailor training as circumstances change, and the tools to evaluate the capabilities of the individual soldier and the unit.

DSTATS Feature
Description
Simulation Capabilities

A single DSTATS can simulate a combination of 86 tactical systems communicating with 91 real tactical systems.

Communications Capabilities
Communicates via tactical radios, wire line, and commercial telephone on multiple channels.
Tactical Messages Offers complete set of tactical messages for each simulated system that can be sent and received individually or in scenarios.
Multiple Scenarios Executes up to 20 scenarios that run independently, yet concurrently.
Individual Training Allows individual students to proceed at their own pace in response to separate scenarios.
Scenario Types

[top]
Enables trainer to create scenarios with events that execute at a pre-selected delta time (time-driven) or that execute only when the student sends correct response (interactive).
Scenario Tailoring Allows creation of unique scenarios tailored to the specific training needs of a unit or individual as opposed to "canned scenarios."
Scenario Global Editing Offers capability to quickly create new scenarios from existing scenarios by changing all addresses or delta times at once.
Scenario Flexibility Allows trainer to reposition scenario to repeat or skip events and pause scenarios without restarting at the first event.
Scenario Versatility

[top]
Provides trainer the capability to change running scenarios "on the fly" and transmit unscripted messages "over the top" as scenarios are executing.
Automated Grading Compares data received from student with correct data as defined by trainer and computes a grade for selected events.
Performance Feedback Automatically transmits messages alerting student of incorrect responses to scenario events.
Performance Evaluation Provides trainers real-time evaluation of student actions during training.
Network Monitoring Records message traffic exchanged between real tactical systems that are not communicating with DSTATS.
Automated Scenario Processing

[top]
Automatically transmits responses from simulated cannon or rocket firing units (e.g. Shot, Splash, Rnds Complete) and tracks ammunition expenditures when DSTATS receives fire missions from real tactical systems.
After-Action Journal Reviews Records, date/time stamps, sorts, and prints all message traffic, allowing trainers to review and analyze training performance after training is completed.
Internet Upload and Download Allows DSTATS data to be exchanged via the Internet and e-mail attachment.
Data Backups Archives data to and from diskettes.
Maintenance Contract Covers software upgrades, software maintenance, and repair of hardware for DSTATS 3.0 and 7.0 workstations. Discounts available based on quantity of DSTATS workstations under contract.
Help Desk

[top]

Available 24 hours/7 days for DSTATS covered by maintenance contract. DSTATS operators can call 1-800-92-TELOS (toll-free) to receive assistance with DSTATS operations and to report software/hardware problems.
