Techrizon Developed the PCC for DSTATS

Subsequent to the original fielding of DSTATS, Techrizon developed an external modem for DSTATS called the PCC (Programmable Communications Controller). The PCC can be used with both DSTATS 3.0 and 7.0 workstations with DSTATS Version 7 software installed. The PCC provides the following features that significantly expand DSTATS communications capabilities.

  • PCC adds the DoD-mandated MIL STD 188-220 communications protocol and retains TACFIRE communications protocol.
  • PCC expands the number of communications channels. With the PCC, the DSTATS 7.0 workstation can be configured with 2, 3, or 4 channels. When the PCC is added to the DSTATS 3.0 workstation with 2 Signal Master channels, a maximum of 6 channels are available.
  • PCC provides significantly faster data rates (32000 bps vs. 1200 bps).
  • PCC allows selections of additional modulations (NRZ and CDP plus FSK).
  • PCC combines DSTATS peripherals for radio, wire line, and telephone communications into one external box.

The DSTATS PCC consists of the following components:

  • Metal case (12"x6"x9") with on/off switch and LED power indicator.
  • 4 internal slots for PCC modem cards.
  • PCC modem cards (1 per PCC channel).
  • Connections for up to four tactical radio, wireline, or telephone channels in any combination.
  • 4 parallel cable connectors (1 per PCC channel).
  • Dual parallel card (1 card supports 2 PCC channels).
  • Parallel cables (1 per PCC channel).
  • Tactical radio cables (1 per PCC channel).
