Techrizon Selected to Provide State Risk Assessments

Lawton, OK – November 15, 2006 – Techrizon, LLC, a leading provider of software engineering, training, simulation and information security services to government and commercial organizations, announced that it has been selected by the Office of State Finance (OSF) to provide information risk assessments for the State of Oklahoma as required under newly-enacted HB 2935.

HB 2935 requires all Oklahoma state agencies with an information technology system to have an annual security risk assessment by December 1st of each year. Final reports must identify, analyze, prioritize, and document information security vulnerabilities. Drawing on its extensive experience in providing information technology security solutions to the U.S. Department of Defense, Techrizon security consultants have developed a portfolio of internal and external risk assessment solutions specifically designed to meet the OSF requirements outlined in HB 2935.

“An information risk assessment is the first step in the information security process and the most effective way to identify vulnerabilities and lower organizational risk. We make it easy for our clients to take that first step by identifying vulnerabilities in the areas of technology, people, and processes,” said Toney Stricklin, Vice President, Information Security and Systems Training & Simulations for Techrizon.

“State agencies maintain a virtual warehouse of information on every citizen in the state, making passage of this bill both timely and needed,” said Mike Austin, Director of Information Security for Techrizon. “Unauthorized access into computer systems and theft of personal information is a growing problem, not only for government agencies, but for corporations and universities. Identity theft is the fastest growing crime in the United States, affecting 1 in 50 citizens at an average cost of over $6,700 per incident. As agencies become more dependent on computer networks and the internet to perform their daily activities, the need to protect confidential data becomes more critical.”
