EDUCATING
ORGANIZATIONS AND EMPLOYEES
CAPABILITY MATURITY MODEL INTEGRATION (CMMI®) TRAINING
CLIENT:
A U.S Government organization that maintains software for military aircraft
systems.
CHALLENGE:
While keeping their fleet serviceable and safe in today's dynamic military
environment, our customer maintains software systems that are decades
old. They needed Techrizon to help them make the transition from a Software
Capability Maturity Model (SW CMM) Level 4 organization to CMMI Level
5.
SOLUTION:
Techrizon enhanced the knowledge base of our CMMI implementer and process
improvement engineers by certifying them to teach introductory CMMI
courses. In doing so, we developed an instructor base with a competency
that was unlike anything else available in the industry. Having already
implemented the model and been appraised at CMMI Maturity Level 5, Techrizon
instructors provided far superior training at a competitive price. The
demand and success of this program continues to grow through customer
referrals as Techrizon instructors work diligently to improve and evolve
coursework and training techniques.
VIRTUAL
REALITY TRAINING SYSTEM (VRTS)
TRAINING JOINT MILITARY FORCES
CLIENT:
An American military unit, either deployed or preparing to deploy. This
unit is responsible for training and sustaining its soldiers, sailors,
airmen, and marines as Joint Fires Observers (JFOs) and Joint Tactical
Air Controllers (JTACs). This training focuses on 1) employing fires
and 2) the effects of those fires on major combats and on stability
operations.
CHALLENGE:
To develop a fully immersive, photorealistic training simulation and
combat environment. The simulation and environment must provide a very
high degree of realism for the training. It must also be compatible
with other virtual, live, and constructive individuals and units.
SOLUTION:
Techrizon offers a Virtual Reality Training System (VRTS) that has the
ability to place military officers, NCOs, and enlisted personnel into
a tactical environment identical to where they are being deployed. The
result is a cost-effective training tool that ensures JFOs and JTACs
are truly prepared to progress to live fire training. This ensures a
better utilization of limited ammunition resources. VRTS is adaptable
for Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, First Responders and other high-profile
training environments.
VRTS simulates
trainees' senses by creating a hauntingly realistic environment. Environmental
and physical conditions can be altered to replicate specific geographical
areas of the world. These replications include the climatic conditions,
sounds, and threats service members are expected to face upon arrival.
During
VRTS, the instructor executes a vignette. This is designed not only
to task trainees but also to simultaneously monitor their progress,
alter their training conditions and stress their decision-making abilities,
all while the trainees execute the type of technical tasks required
when engaging enemy targets with all aspects of lethal and non-lethal
effects.
Upon completion
of the exercise, the service members receive an after-action review
of their performance. Everyone's actions are discussed and analyzed.
When necessary, individual trainees return to VRTS for additional training
and evaluation.
After participating
in a VRTS, experienced soldiers at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, said: "If
only we'd had this before we went to Iraq and Afghanistan." In
addition, Middle-Eastern students attending school near Fort Sill were
amazed at the level of detail provided in the VRTS that depicts a Middle-Eastern
urban setting.
