Operational Briefing Area (OBA)/After Action Review (AAR): The OBA/AAR Module is an initial staging area/after action briefing area, used to bring teams and staffs together to begin an exercise, and to conduct AAR's and prepare them for subsequent training. Initially soldiers receive an operational briefing, and administrative and tactical instructions. Administrative instructions will include the layout of JFETS; tasks, conditions and standards; and a safety briefing. Tactical instructions include a mission-type order along with a complete situational briefing. Depending on the mission, the JFO will proceed to the OTM, UTM or JFECM fully immersed in the training. At the end of each training session a review of the students actions will be conducted. The AAR area is configured to use video and audio playback tools to enhance the instructors' facilitation of the discussion. Although briefing and conducting AAR's is this module's primary function, a secondary role for this room is a live action feed of training in the other modules that enables soldiers to learn before they train in the OTM, UTM or JFECM. JFOs will be provided a DVD of their AAR to take home for their review.
