Open Terrain Module (OTM) using the Call For Fire Trainer (CFFT) system: The CFFT is a task trainer used to train JFOs in the art of calling for and adjusting indirect fires and provides Close Air Support (CAS) training. In the OTM, from positions of tactical advantage, a JFO can employ accurate, destructive fires and effects against high-payoff targets to eliminate the enemy. The JFO will master the skills necessary to sense high-payoff targets and engage the enemy with an appropriate mix of fires and effects to ensure immediate and devastating results. A large scale virtual environment for JFO training in joint operational situations and scenarios, the OTM, employs a front-projected wrap-around screen to fully engage the JFO in a photo-realistic landscape. 4D effects, a wide range of military optical/range finding equipment and set design further immerse JFOs into the training experience.
